OCT 03, 2014

With all the buzz about the Cisco acquisition of MetaCloud, we thought it would be a good time to remind everyone that Trace3 has been a fan of the solution for quite some time and was one of the is one of only 2 firms that MetaCloud trusts to offer it’s solution.  I know it’s not the greatest use of a blog post but I wanted use this space to promote our relationship by drawing attention to the press release Metacloud published in July.  — or — you can read it below…

Metacloud Partners with Trace3 to Bring OpenStack-based Private Cloud Solutions to a Wider Audience

Metacloud’s technology and Trace3’s innovative consultancy-based business model combined will make it easier for companies in all industries to access the benefits of private cloud

PASADENA, Calif. – June XX, 2014 – Metacloud, Inc., a leader in deploying and operating OpenStack as a service for some of the world’s largest companies, is pleased to announce that they have been selected as the open source cloud solution of choice by Trace3, a leader in Digital business transformation. The agreement makes Metacloud solutions an official part of the Trace3 portfolio, which will benefit both organizations by increasing Trace3’s selection of proven cutting edge solutions and by giving Metacloud access to a large and sophisticated team of consultants.

The two Metacloud solutions Trace3 will be offering are Metacloud On-Premises and Metacloud Hosted. Both solutions are built on the company’s enterprise-hardened version of the OpenStack software platform, and feature advanced operational support from one of the most sophisticated teams of cloud engineers in the industry. Metacloud On-Premises is designed for customers that want to leverage their existing hardware and data center facilities for private cloud initiatives. Metacloud Hosted is a turn-key private cloud solution that provides it all–hardware, software, expert support, and secure hosting–for companies that either don’t own those assets, or simply do not want to get involved in day-to-day cloud management.
“We carefully evaluated a number of OpenStack solutions, and determined that Metacloud had the right approach,” said Anoj Willy, Trace3’s Cloud Practice Direcor. “Our customers want public cloud agility with predictable performance, data locality, and security, and Metacloud OnPrem brings all that to the table. Their focus on cloud operations is extremely important to us. Most of their competitors are just focusing on standing up the environment, but we believe that making sure it runs smoothly over time is more critical. We also knew their non-prescriptive hardware model would appeal to customers looking for maximum flexibility. Our plan is to make Metacloud a key component in our broader cloud strategy.”
“Trace3 is an ideal partner for Metacloud,” said Steve Curry, Metacloud co-founder and President. “They have a nuanced understanding of the current technology landscape, and they’re determined to bring the right solutions to their customers. They’re only going to present Metacloud solutions when and where they make sense. That approach lays the groundwork for a successful relationship between us and our customers from the beginning. We really appreciate that philosophy and that level of integrity.”

“For me, the most impressive thing about Trace3 is the insight and knowledge they bring to help shape product development and pace of adoption in the marketplace. They strive to build relationships based on implementing business solutions to help customers solve problems and improve business processes, recommending the technology that will do that most effectively.” said Sean Lynch, co-founder and CEO, Metacloud. “When it comes to open source cloud, they’re betting on Metacloud, and we’re glad we made the cut.”
