Artificial Intelligence is helping fight the COVID-19 pandemic in a variety of ways, from epidemiologists using AI models to predict the spread of contagion, to Netflix anticipating our homebound entertainment needs.

While we can appreciate recommendations for Tiger King versus Ozark, there is no doubt that identifying a cure for COVID-19 is top-of-mind for us all. Providing medical researchers access to AI infrastructure is critical to finding answers for complex scientific questions about the virus and how it affects our bodies.

Artificial Intelligence, Deep Learning, and its sibling Machine Learning, facilitate predictive models and structures of drugs that will potentially help COVID-19 patients respond to treatment. This allows for rapid acceleration of optimizing drug discovery and treatments, which accelerate traditional research-based approaches. This is extremely vital due to the uniqueness of COVID-19, where we don’t have as many traditional hypothesis-driven indicators to identify what drugs would likely be receptive.

Trace3 is using a high-performance mini-supercomputer with 32 NVIDIA V100 Tensor Core GPUs to rapidly accelerate parallel processing for protein sequencing and other analytics around COVID-19. We are currently in talks with Purdue University to provide GPU-acceleration to three departments that are working diligently on COVID-19 research and need fast turnaround on results to rapidly innovate. Efficiency is the name of the game, now and in a post-COVID-19 world.

Along with the use of AI for COVID-19 research, Trace3 helps companies embrace AI for business success. Data insights, efficiency, automation, and optimization are going to be critical for companies to thrive during and beyond the current economic downturn.

We are supporting our clients in a variety of ways with AI readiness assessments, AI strategic roadmaps, point solutions, Robotic Process Automation (RPA), and other automation. These solutions address productivity lost to COVID-19 and are built on a full ecosystem of hardware, software, and data science services. We are certain that embracing AI will help our clients identify and fulfill business gaps to successfully evolve during this unprecedented time.
